Papercraft Project: Final Revision
After quite some time working in rhino to save my design as there were some flaws such as the moon pieces, I finally had a template that would work with my design. This took a while, as I had to make a few versions to test where the tabs should be and if they were in a spot where the moon cut out did not display any ugly tabs from the inside. However, after about two more tries I finally found my solution, and I was quite pleased.
Additionally, I later decided that I wanted to challenge myself further and create a top part to the lantern, so that way I was still pushing myself and also had a way to carry the lantern around and interact with the object even more.

After combining the top and base of the project I felt that I needed to see the two of them together in Rhino, and hence, I felt that the project Finally looked complete.
By the end I was very satisfied with how the object came out compared the the original which was much more messy and had various issues with the tabs, sizing and much more. I could not be more content with the time I had to work with and the situation I was put in through having COVID19 and going to the hospital. Overall, I learned a lot about how to plan an art piece in Rhino and watch it go from simply a model to a real world piece of artwork.
